GENERALIST LEGAL SERVICE
The main role of the general daytime service is to give initial legal advice and refer clients to private solicitors, the Legal Aid Office or other appropriate agencies. A solicitor provides legal advice and limited casework assistance by appointment during office hours.
LEGAL ADVICE SESSIONS
These are held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings of the month. The centre provides free and confidential legal advice and information in a face to face interview or by telephone appointment. A social worker is in attendance and can provide you with support and referral information about services that are available in the community.
Appointments are essential for both services and can be made by phoning (07) 4953 1211 during office hours.
Translation services are available by arrangement. Clients are welcome to bring a support person to their appointment if they so choose.
